Extract Audio from Premier Elements 2023I have a 4K .mov file from my Canon 5D IV. It's composed of about 20 clips on the timeline. I would like to extract the audio from the entire movie, process it in Audacity, and then return it to the movie in Premiere Elements. Even if I select an individual clip, there is no option for file > export > audio. Thanks!
Re: Extract Audio from Premier Elements 2023You're right, E. There is no neat way to pull the audio out, polish it another program and have it update on your timeline in Premiere Elements.
In Premiere Elements, you almost have to Export & Share the audio as a WAV file, clean it up and create a new WAV and then manually replace your old audio with the new WAV. HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
Re: Extract Audio from Premier Elements 2023Thank you so much! I also have PowerDirector 365, but while my i5-6600K stutters on Premiere Elements, it absolutely chokes on PowerDirector even while using 720 x 480 shadow files. I'm in the process of shopping for a new CPU and motherboard for a needed upgrade. Until then, I'll use Premier Elements.
Re: Extract Audio from Premier Elements 2023Do you render your video files first in PRE? That should stop the stuttering. If you have a red bar across the top of the video try rendering. That should smooth out the playback.

Re: Extract Audio from Premier Elements 2023I'm with Sidd. I suspect there's something fixable in your PowerDirector set-up. An i5 6600 should have no problems running that program.
Where is your source video coming from? Is it coming from a camcorder or some other source? What is your video's resolution and frame rate? HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
Re: Extract Audio from Premier Elements 2023Sidd, that would be the "render preview" button? No, I haven't done that. Does it affect the final output, i.e. rendering too many times degrades the final output?
The files are 4K .mov files from a Canon 5D IV shot at 30fps. By the way, is there a way to receive an email on this forum when someone replies to a thread that you are following? I can't find it.
Re: Extract Audio from Premier Elements 2023Well, 4K might be just a bit much for an i5. As you can see on this benchmark chart, that processor rates about 6300. I'd recommend at least a 10,000 rating for working with 4K.
https://www.cpubenchmark.net/mid_range_cpus.html On the other hand, it should certainly be adequate for high-def editing, for what it's worth. If you can set your camera to shoot in 1920x1080 (or convert the current footage to 1920x1080 using Handbrake), you should have no problems editing it on your i5. Re: Extract Audio from Premier Elements 2023
No, rendering doesn't affect the final output in any way, no matter how many times you do it. Basically, it creates a file that PrEl will use for previewing, without the computer needing to process video effects, transitions, etc. in real time. After you click on the Post Reply button, under Options click on "Notify me when a reply is posted". I think it'll remember your choice in future replies because I never have to select it each time, but you can check in a future reply to make sure. Be yourself; everyone else is taken.
