Hello,
I accidently moved my work area bar in a project I'm working on. Now it's in manual mode. Any way to get it back to auto mode?
I thought I saw a post describing a slick way to do this.
Thanks,
Bob

Work Area BarHello,

Re: Work Area BarUnfortunately no. Once you manually set it, it will remain in position until you change it.
It will, however, be back on automatic once you start a new project. HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
Re: Work Area BarDoes it still work to double click on the bar and it automatically will cover the entire project?
1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.
2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.
Re: Work Area BarThat will set it to your movie's length, Chuck. But it still won't automatically resize as you edit.

Re: Work Area BarThanks everyone. I thought I could reset this.
Re: Work Area BarHello Bob,
A long time ago, I posted a work around to reset the work area bar which involved editing the project file. This was for Premiere Elements version 7, but it's possible that Adobe is still using the same conventions for storing the settings for this in the project file. It wouldn't hurt to look. But, before you do, make sure you've double clicked the work area bar to cover the entire project length and save the project. I'd also recommend locating the project file (it's the one ending in ".prel") and make a copy. The project file is a text file that can be edited. If you are using Windows, the wordpad app can do it. Read the following topic thread for details: https://muvipix.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=8540&start=15#p75696.
Re: Work Area BarThis was a great idea however the Prel file appears to be encrypted.
What if I grouped all the files. Copied them, open a new project and paste them in. Just a thought.
Re: Work Area BarThat's too bad. I didn't expect Adobe to do that. If I were still using Premiere Elements I would have checked that. Sorry!
