...Wow!
In particular, Guided Edit>Special Edits>Depth of Field>Custom option using the new Smart Selection Tool...OMG!*
And for the headshot aficionados: Guided Edit>Special Edits>Perfect Portrait is going to make you very happy.
With PSE 2018 and Organizer 2018, my new workflow tends to be as follows:
--Use the Organizer's Instant Fix>Clarity option when an entire folder of images would benefit from minor adjustments in brightness, contrast and sharpness (the Clarity option has a slider whereas the Smart Fix option does not)
--Open any remaining problem images with Quick Edit, where I will most often make use of the Crop, Lighting and Sharpness tools
--Switch to Guided Edit if I wish to apply any of the dozens of options available in that workspace
--Exit Guided Edit by switching to the Expert workspace (clicking Save when doing so), if I wish to make use of any of the options available under either the Create or Share tabs.
Here is a partial list of what can be created under the Create tab: Slideshows (instant-movie style), Photo Books, Photo Prints, Greeting Cards, Photo Collages, Facebook Covers, CD/DVD Labels and Jackets
Also under the Create tab, here are the sub-tabs that are available: Layers, Effects, Styles, Graphics. Within each of those sub-tabs, one has dozens upon dozens of options to choose from. For example, from the Graphics dropdown, one finds the following choices: Backgrounds, Frames, Graphics, Shapes and Text -- and within each of these options one finds more dozens of choices. (The image in the Expert workspace must generally be converted into a Layer, by using the Layer tab, before applying any of the effects.)
In the past, I tended to enjoy shooting more than editing. But with the advent of PSE and Organizer 2018, followed by Steve's fabulous book to explain how to maximize their usage, I'm finding that he is correct when he writes that creating pictures with a computer "is more fun than you ever imagined."
