My iPhone XR uses the HEIC photo format which has to be converted to JPEG to work in PRE18. So I'm doing that conversion on my MAC. But it's tedious (1700 photos from a recent trip). I notice PRE20 Mac accepts HEIC but my MAC isn't my primary photo editing platform (PC).
I figured out that I can change a setting on the XR to save photos in JPEG but it looks like that disables some (video) slo-mo and 4K features.
The options at this point are hard to accept when things worked so efficiently with the JPEG format as the standard. Is HEIC the future standard format?
