Fade Out not working

Postby GriffinR » Thu Dec 28, 2017 3:06 pm

Hello,

I have a clip that I have applied slow motion to and now I'm trying to have fade out also applied to this clip.
I right click on the clip, click fade, click fade out video. It applied the rubber band and the keyframe but the effect doesn't apply. I've rendered the video and exported it and no fade out effect. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Bob

We saw something like this before when someone applied Time Remapping to a clip. Apparently applying time change effects to a clip messes up the opacity keyframing.

The easiest solution is to output your slo-mo clip as an MP4 and then use the new MP4 on your timeline. You'll then have no problems applying Fade In/ Out to it.

Thanks for the workaround. I'll give it a shot.

Take care,

So I'm guessing I need to delete everything else on the time but the clip with the time remapping. Export that clip, then build the timeline again and apply the fade. Wow. A lot of work but Do you know of a quicker method?

Thanks,

Bob

Before you delete, an easier option is to add black video or a black matte to the track about and keyframe opacity.

Mom’s solution is a good one. If you ever do need to export just a section of your timeline set the Work Area Bar to just that section and then in the export options select Work Area Bar only. No need to delete anything.
