Timecode Generator

Postby Ron » Mon Feb 08, 2010 6:18 am

Good morning. Trying to use an AVI exported from the Timecode Generator (in PE7), and all I get on the timeline is black video - won't adjust. Does anyone happen to know what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks.
Regards,
-Ron

Not sure if this will help. I haven't used Timecode Generator for some time. What avi export settings did you use?

Infact if I recall the last time I used it I exported the avi with a green background and used the chromo key to key out the green. Perhaps I did this because of the issue you are seeing.

Thanks, Paul. I'm using the standard export settings (minimum 4 bit color). It's just an uncompressed AVI - no special codecs required or anything. It plays fine in a few players. If I put it above the timeline, it eventually starts emulating the video under it - weird. May be my video card or it's just not compatible with WIN7.

I see you posted again. I'll give it a try.

Just to close out this thread, in case anyone else has the problem, I managed to get it to work by exporting 16 bit color. 32 bit freaked the AVI file completely out. The program's a little quirky (on my computer), but it does get the job done.
