Adding markers on-the-flyIn previous versions of PRE, one could add markers "on the fly" by clicking * on the numeric keypad. It's not working for me - was that eliminated in PRE11? It doesn't do anything when I click....
Re: Adding markers on-the-flyAre you sure it doesn't work? It works for me. At least in version 12. It should work in version 11 also.

Re: Adding markers on-the-flyTried it in version 11 and it works in it too.
Have you ensured that your timeline is selected? HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
Re: Adding markers on-the-flyWhen I hit play am clicking the * key on the numeric keypad to make markers but no markers appear. Remind me again how to make sure my timeline is selected... I know none of the clips are selected.
Re: Adding markers on-the-flyIt works, but it only works if I am not playing the video. I wanted to play the music track and click * to mark the beats, but the * only works when I am not playing the video. I know there's the 'beat detect' feature, but I can't seem to adjust it properly so it detects the beats. Steve, does it work for you when you are actually playing the video?
Re: Adding markers on-the-flyYep.

Re: Adding markers on-the-flyWell it works. Inexplicably, it only works if I start the video using the spacebar. If I click the Play button below the preview pane, it doesn't work. I don't understand the logic of that, but am happy to have it working.
Re: Adding markers on-the-flyGlad you figured that out, angela. I'd have never seen that since I always start and stop playback with my spacebar.
I'll bet it has to do with selecting the timeline, as I suggested above. When you click the play button -- since it's not on the timeline but in a different panel -- it deselects the timeline. Definitely a design flaw. But I'm glad you figured it out! HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
