No drivers to install but I'd connect it to the computer and turn it on before installing the utility. No need to have the VCR connected at that point, but it certainly wouldn't do any harm.

If you need anything you can contact me via email at "jjccl AT aol DOT com" since I'm not usually passing by this website as much as I have been. ( not doing too much vhs to dvd stuff these days)
The picture controller software is an alternative to the dipswitch ability on the 300. Not sure why anyone would want to deal with that way of changing settings though. ASRock Z68 Extreme 4 Gen/3 motherboard. Core i7 2600 and 16 gigs of ddr3. SSD Crucial boot drive, GTX750 Ti video card. Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.
