Premiere Elements 2 old memory question

Postby AVITRY » Mon Jan 04, 2010 10:45 am

Hi all. This question goes back some in time. I recalled something about the PE2 program having trouble when computers had 2gigs of memory and when one of those gigs was removed the problems were also gone.

I just put together a computer using an older P4 Abit motherboard with the Intel 865PE chipset. I was considering puting 2gigs of memory in it, when I remembered something about PE2 and this memory issue.

I'm trying to avoid new problems if I can. I also have Realtek audio on this MBoard as well, and I recalled issues there also .... LOL Hope someone can address these concerns a little more specifically than my old brain recalls.

thanks!

Hi Joe,
Happy New Year :)

I think the Realtek audio issues came in version 3 and later, but it is strictly a driver issue.
Usually updating to the most recent driver will solve any problems. If you have audio issues you know where to come for the answers :)

The memory issue was very sporadic, I never had that problem and neither did most people.
You should go ahead and put in 2 or 3 gb, whatever you have, and just see what happens. Chances are you won't have any issues ;)

2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.

Agree. I used PrElv2 until very recently and with 4Gb RAM I never had any problems. Just keep in mind that anything over 3Gb will be unusable with a 32 bit OS which will only be able to 'see' about 3.2Gb.
