Strange as GSpot says the codec is installed, therefore Vegas should be able to access it. You could try reloading the DivX codec from here:
http://www.divx.com/en/software/windows/divx

Welcome to Muvipix by the way... :meet:

Thanks for the welcome... ;) But it didn't work :( I tried opening in Windows Movie maker and it opens fine there I see video and audio..so i don't know why video it's not working on SV. In case this might help every time i try downloading Divx a little window that says "initializing" states there...even after the download it's done & i have the icons in my desktop and i play the player and it's fine; the little window that says initializing says "not responding" next to it and i have to CTRL+ALT+DELETE to take it out. Just wanted to mention that!

By the way Windows movie maker shows this in Options:
WMM.jpg

I don't know if this helps or not :???:

Not sure why this is happening. I just downloaded and installed the latest DivX codec as per the link above and can now play DivX videos in Vegas Pro 9. From the jpg you attached it appears you have the DivX Decoder Filter 7 installed so I am not sure why it wont play.

I guess you could export from WMM as DV-AVI and bring this into Vegas but the conversion time would be quite long if your videos are large.

Yes, that is the issue with these highly compressed formats that are only intended for delivery. A dedicated convertor that can be used for converting DivX may fair better.

Is there a converter that you could recommend? (If it's free better :) ) And if so...i have to convert Divx into what format for me to be able to run the video on Vegas?

Thanks

Prism does a good job of converting DivX to DV-AVI... probably the best format for Vegas however it has large file sizes... 13GB per hour. MPEG2 is another option... not ideal as it is compressed and you will get some quality loss but should be handled better than DivX.

http://www.nchsoftware.com/prism/index.html

Note the basic version is free, you have to play for the plus version.

Good luck I hope it runs smoothly. Unfortunately with these compressed formats you can run into a number of issues such as audio sync issues. I hope you dont have these issues.
