Vegas Pro - AVI (H.264) - Can't import! So I just got my little Ativa 1080p pocket cam, and I really do like it. Tried adding the .avi files into Vegas and it just says that the stream attributes could not be determined. Any ideas? I installed the K-Lite Mega Pack and it didn't help. I also have QuickTime installed if that would help. I haven't restarted yet (if that makes any difference).

Looking around. Will post some to allow URLs.
Re: Vegas Pro - AVI (H.264) - Can't import! We have a couple of Vegas users, one for sure is in Europe so it's kind of late there.
I'm sure he will answer tomorrow. Do you know what type of AVI the file is? AVI can be many flavors, DivX, MJPEG, lots of different codecs can be used to encode AVI. 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

Re: Vegas Pro - AVI (H.264) - Can't import!
It's mpeg-4 (h.264 video with AAC audio codecs) embedded in an AVI container.
Re: Vegas Pro - AVI (H.264) - Can't import!I tried a clip from the camcorder in Sony Vegas Pro 8 & 9 and Vegas does not see the clips. Most likely because the codec is not installed on my computer. Have you installed the software that came with the camcorder? If you have and you still can not see or hear the video then it might be better to convert the video to another format.

I love my Atica pocket cam too. Vegas is installed and running fine for me but I had my nephew set up the cam for me as sadly I'm one of the technically challenged. If you are still looking for an answer, I can ask him and post here.... Re: Vegas Pro - AVI (H.264) - Can't import!Oops, I've never updated this post.
I can get the video to show up just fine as long as the k-lite mega pack x64 is installed. The audio still doesn't show up, but that's fine, as I use an external mic and audio file for the audio (I just line up the video and my new audio file in Vegas).
Re: Vegas Pro - AVI (H.264) - Can't import!Hi Katrina, Welcome to Muvipix
It might be nice if you could add a little instruction from your nephew if that is possible. Might help anyone else that happens upon this topic Glad to hear you got things worked out Besweet 1.
