Sony Vegas Chroma Problem

I have a wierd problem with Vegas

On the Chroma Tool, I cannot get the choose colour by the eye dropper to work correctly, I click on it but it wont let me choose a colour from the preview screen or the time line

Any Ideas

Strange, there is nothing more to it than clicking on the eyedropper and then clicking on a colour in the preview screen. Does the eyeddropper icon appear when you click on it?

The eye dropper icon appears for like 1 second and then disappears again, it used to work untill a few days

even reinstalling has not solved the problem
