Please keep us informed how it goes. I was thinking of downloading the e-version from the US site as it is not yet available in the UK. If you guys are having problems I might have even more in the UK.

The only trial version available is MEP 14. There isn't a trial for MEP 15 yet.

The MEP 15 Plus Download version is for both the US and UK. You select which one during installation.

Robert. The trial is available for MEP15. I downloaded it and trued it before purchasing.

There is a "test it now for free" button on the web site.

The web site is here:

http://www.magix.com/us/movie-edit-pro/plus/

The test it for free buttn is on the lower right side of the screen.

That was a tricky placement for the trial button.

Recieved a response from Germany. I had to send them my computer ID. Will have to wait for a response for that.

Next problem, when I want to save the effects that I have applied to a clip, Video-FX > Save Video Effects, I get an error message that a file is missing: EffectsSelectionDialog.ini. I searched the entire hard drive for that file to see if maybe it had been misplaced, but it doesn't exist. I created an empty file with that name, but then I get an error message that the file is invalid.

Here's a temporary fix for the missing file, EffectSelectionDialog.ini.

Go to this folder:

c:\Program Files\MAGIX\Movie_Edit_Pro_15_Plus_Download_version\Movie_Edit_Pro_15_Plus_Download_version\Bitmaps\mxgui.4.0

Copy CReqMXGUI.ini and then Paste. Then rename the copy to EffectSelectionDialog.ini.

This will get you by until MAGIX publishes a fix. Now you should get a dialog when you go Video-FX > Save Video Effects.... What will be missing is the OK and Cancel buttons, and the dialog isn't sized properly. If you press TAB you can navigate to the invisible OK and Cancel buttons. The first invisible button is the OK button and the second invisible one is the Cancel button. Press ENTER afterwards. If you haven't applied any effects to a clip, then the dialog will be blank.

You might be able to edit the INI file so the dialog is displayed properly.

I submitted a ticket on this.

Te guy helping me with registration/activation this morning sent me my activation code. I entered it and now all is fine with the program registration.

The only problem now is how I can get the BONUS software, such as travel map animation.

I want to ay a word about MAXIX support. They have so far been very quick to respond to my tickets and eager to resolve my problems. I wish all companies were like that. ::CLAP:

Robert. How do you figure these things out?

I ran your workaround procedures and they work. I think this is a new feature which is similar to the Premiere Elements copy attributes command.
Thanks for the workaround, I too will open a ticket.

I too got my activation code. You will have to enter it again when you check for an Online Update.

I requested a CD with the bonus material.

You can edit the EffectSelectionDialog.ini file so the dialog is wide enough to show the other two buttons. Note that If there are more than 8 or 9 effects in the list, depending on your screen resolution settings, the remaining effects will not be displayed but they will be saved.

Edit the first line with "position:"

position = 359, 419, 641, 534 <-------- FROM THIS
position = 359, 419, 781, 534 <---------TO THIS

I received this response from Magix regarding the Bonus content.

Thank you for your message.

Due to a web content error, the features were listed for the download version. However, they are only available for the boxed version. We are honouring the extra products for customers who ordered on or before 03.16.09. You will be contacted shortly on how this will be dealt with.

I received mthe DVD yesterday, as promised by MAGIX. I reinstalled and also installed the BONUS software. everything, including registration, went without a glitch.

There is still the problem RJ reported with the missing files regarding the copy effects command. RJs workaround works for now, until they come up with a fix.

This seems to be a good supplemental editor for my video projects.

I received the disc too. Installed the bonus program Vasco de Gamma and saw that there were more maps in the folders. If you upgrade to the standard version for 49 euro, you can use your own maps.

I have uninstalled 14, installed 15 in safe mode, as administrator, with antivirus off, with firewall off etc etc but i cant get the programme to run. The cursor moves for a few seconds but then nothing happens....
