I'am having exactly the same problem!
It's also from a Samsung digital camera,
and all I get is a black screen when i render.

Does any one have a solution?

Welcome dzowild.

What format are your videos from the digital camera? Are they mjpegs or some other format? You could try to convert them to DV-AVI. If Windows Movie Maker can play the clip you could export it as DV-AVI.

If you are using XP. In MovieMaker go to "Finish Movie > Save to my computer", then in "Show more choices > Other settings" select DV-AVI.

If you are using Vista. Select File then Publish Movie, select This Computer and click next, name the file and location and click next, choose the settings for your movie, select More Settings, select DV-AVI, click the Publish Button

Thanks Paul,

My Windows Movie Maker isn't working, it can't open anything. But I tried using VirtualDub to convert it to a few other formats and i either get a blank screen
rolling as always, or a fast forward version of the clip. They are all 'Xvid' video compression clips. The clips from a different camera, that actually work, are 'FFDS' which i have no idea what this means.

Oh well, no use crying about it.

You could try to download an Xvid codec and see if Vegas will handle the file natively. I use this Xvid codec: http://www.digital-digest.com/software/ ... id=0&did=1
