I am trying to recreate the original mission impossible opening that has the match lighting the fuse. Any ideas on how to create the burning fuse end? Here is a clip fo what it looks like:
This is the opening from the 1988 remake (which was pretty good too)

Hi Sidd, I played around with the Lightning effect a little and had some interesting results, not quite the same though. Maybe a combination of Lightning and Lens Flare? Still, it looks like the fuse is more animated and it seems to loop if you watch it closely. Have you tried checking out http://www.detonationfilms.com/missionstatement.htmThey have lots of stuff when it comes to fire and explosions and things like that

I can also create a transparent video of the fuse burning in After Effects and you can overlay on your video.

Why not just take a video of a friend lighting a match against a dark background? You could have the friend simulate the movements of the arm just like the sample.
And yes it does look like they stopped the motion and re lit another match for the end burn. You could do that also.

Sidd, did you see the Videohive clip for $6, it has a transparent background and looks great for only half the price

And my suggestion was totally free. (well maybe the match would cost a penny or so.)

So this really brings up an idea. What about a Muvipix custom shop. For those folks (like me) who would like a custom piece of work but do not want to pay through the nose, could put the request out and have a Muvipix member create that work sell cheaper than the “artbeats” stuff and let Muvipix get a cut….Any Thoughts.

We have always been willing to create stuff for members Sidd. Steve offered to create a burning fuse for you in a post above. We just add the created file to our products section when we are done.

Yes Chuck that was a very kind offer from Steve, I was just trying to make a point that this might be an additional revenue source (albiet very small). I know the old saying is why pay for the cow when the milk is free.....but it is always nice to show appreciation to those that are willing to share their talent.

We generally will do small projects for subscribers, if they have purchased a subscription then we feel it is an obligation to help them when ever possible. Like the background we just did for Ric, that is something we try to do when we can. Those items then usually end up in the products section for all subscribers, and future subscribers, to take advantage of. Maybe we should add this to the list of benefits of being a Premiere Subscriber
