Talk about anything here.

Hi Most of the time when a video is posted in the forum topics I cannot view it. It has a message saying that the "Video No Longer Exists". I think it is still viewable as people post comments about it after I have tried to watch it.
I am using Safari 5.02.
Any ideas

Hi Helen, Can you provide a link to a topic where you have this issue? That would sure help us troubleshoot the problem. Thanks,

The most recent one is the one that talks about the helicopter http://muvipix.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=8405It says that the video no longer exists and I can see recent comments that are obvious that it has been viewed.

Hi Helen, I tried with Safari 5.0.2 and did not have a problem viewing the video. Have you tried Firefox and get the same results? This is a tough one to figure out.

I know what you are talking about Helen. I have imbedded a couple of vimeo clips to some of my posts. I get the same message. So I then used the link in my browser (internet explorer) to go to vimeo to see if the link is valid. It is valid as I can watch the clip. Coming back to Muvipix I see the post now shows the clip and it plays fine in Muvipix.

Just an FYI: When you use the vimeo tags to embed the video here, you only need to copy the id number, not the entire link address. If you use the entire address, you'll get that message. I've fixed a number of those problem posts. Other mods have also.
Helen, could you go back to that web page and then refresh or reload it. That particular movie was one that had that specific problem and gave that message. It's been corrected, but I'm wondering if you have your browser set to not refresh when you go back to a page you've already visited. If you have an old copy in your browser cache, that might be the problem. Something else may be happening too, so let us know what happens.

Yup, guilty as charged. I'm the one that fixed yours, Sidd, I believe. Nothing magic there - just performing some minor edits - as Bob said, this is what we do I even go so far as to fix typos on occasion this is how anal I am sometimes. The Vimeo embed is peculiar using only the ID, but it's the only way it would work at the time. I'll research to see if they've fixed that problem. Meanwhile, for future reference, if you hover your mouse over the specific video embed button, it will give you a basic instruction on how to use it; same with all the other edit buttons

Thanks, I had a thought last night that I should clear my cache and see if that fixes the problem which I did before logging on, and presto I can view the video now. Not sure where the option to check if my browser refreshes pages is. I have had a look and could not see it anywhere
