Are Some Muvipix Members Actually Closet Crocheters?

Postby George Tyndall » Sat Nov 14, 2009 4:23 pm

I was reading an article about crocheting when I came across the following statement:

Learning to crochet will give you a lifetime of pleasure and relaxation. You can learn to create handmade items for yourself and people you love. When you give a lovingly crocheted gift, part of you goes into it. Your time, talent, the yarn and color you select -- even the thoughts and feelings you have as you work -- are part of your gift.*

As I read that statement, it occurred to me that the following may also be true:

Learning to create movies will give you a lifetime of pleasure and relaxation. You can learn to create handmade items for yourself and people you love. When you give a lovingly created gift, part of you goes into it. Your time, talent, the images and audio you select -- even the thoughts and feelings you have as you work -- are part of your gift.

I was reading an article about crocheting...

Thinking of taking up crocheting, George? :-D

My mother crocheted, knitted, sewed, etc. so I got to see a lot of how that was done. That came in useful after my daughters got old enough to want to do some of that. My wife had no background, or interest, in any of that, so it fell to me to teach them how to do the basics.

Your reworking of that statement really rings true!

Very True, and very appropriately reworded.
The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is that you can crochet without electricity, not so easy making a video unless you are working on a battery powered computer.
