Re: Free Boris FX Glitter filter - limited timeThanks Jack. Needs to be installed in the en_US folder for it to work. Also your graphics card has to supprt Open GL renders.
PS. Jack... I've started the Bring back the baby avatar!!!! campaign.
Re: Free Boris FX Glitter filter - limited timeThanks, Jack.
There is also a tutorial (for After Effects) that may be of help with other apps as well: http://www.borisfx.com/tutorials/glitter.php Dick
Re: Free Boris FX Glitter filter - limited timeIs this only for After effects? or can it be used in other software (like PE3)
Re: Free Boris FX Glitter filter - limited timeYou can install it in PE3 but you have to direct it to the en_US plugins folder.
Re: Free Boris FX Glitter filter - limited timeWhat does this filter do?
Editor, Oregon Literary Review
Artistic Director, Small Screen Video
Re: Free Boris FX Glitter filter - limited timeWhen I installed it during installation, I became visible under Video effects... good. But when applied to a clip, I get (on the screen) "Filter Disabled, Please click the Test OpenGL HW button in the Options for more information"
I haven't a clue where to do that...
Re: Free Boris FX Glitter filter - limited timeYou actually gave them your phone number?
Re: Free Boris FX Glitter filter - limited time... no, the phone number of Pizza Hut. The error, it means your video card does support the plug-in. The Test OpenGL HW button is found by clicking the icon to the right of the effect name in the effects properties panel.
Re: Free Boris FX Glitter filter - limited timeThanks for the information... Rats again...
Re: Free Boris FX Glitter filter - limited timeWell, I finally got around to downloading it myself...
Strange thing is, it runs on my laptop with Nvidia Quadro FX 1600M (512 MB shared) but not on my desktop with ATI Radeon HD3850 (1GB dedicated). In spite of the fact that the HD3850 is newer tech by about 8 months, and has 4x the onboard video memory, Glitter just doesn't seem to want to run on the ATI card... both are OpenGL 2.0... I'll check further in the days ahead to try to figure it out.
Paul, I hear the roar of the masses, and I'm trying to decide which pic to put up. The old one was from almost a year ago and he has grown quite a bit since then. He's now 18 months old and getting into everything. ASRock Z77 Pro4, Xeon E3-1230 V2, Windows 7 64-bit, 32GB RAM, 3GB GTX 660 ti, 240GB SSD for OS/programs, 3x640GB in RAID0 for projects

Re: Free Boris FX Glitter filter - limited time
Okay, for whatever reason it worked as installed on the laptop, but on the desktop I had to copy & paste it from the "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\CS3\Media Core\Boris Continuum Complete 5.0" folder to the en_US folder in Premiere Pro and now it works. Go figure. ASRock Z77 Pro4, Xeon E3-1230 V2, Windows 7 64-bit, 32GB RAM, 3GB GTX 660 ti, 240GB SSD for OS/programs, 3x640GB in RAID0 for projects
