Now that we know who uses what for Anti-Virus software! What software do you all use for the detection of Trojans? Again, free software is good and for other users on this forum it is all that they need. Now, a product that is designed only for Trojans then I think some of that Free software and paid for software, could fail to detect certain Trojans! One piece of software cannot do everything! I use this excellent piece of software and the support is fantastic!!! A good piece of software comes in to play with excellent support. http://www.misec.net/Lee

Modern Anti-virus software does detect trojans quite well. You generally don't need a separate program just for Trojans. That wasn't the case 5 years ago, but times change and the anti-virus programs have improved significantly. If you've got any of the current top anti-virus detection programs, you should be in relatively good shape.

AVG has been doing a very good job of detecting Trojans.

I think having a couple of programs is better than having the one! I'm sure, everyone on here has more than one program than just AVG to make sure everything is clean on the system. I would not like to put my complete trust in one application, why risk it! Just my ramblings Lee

I agree with Chuck. Just last week I clicked what I presumed to be a good link and there was a Trojan that AVG stopped from going anywhere.
Thanks Richard

I have 7 computers in my house, they all have;
AVG Spybot Windows Defender
That's all.
I do run CCLeaner every other month or so but other than that all of the machines run fine. Some of them are over 6 years old, most are at least 3 years old.

To take the guess work out of not knowing what sites and links are safe you could always try the following! McAfee Site Advisor Advises you about the safety of sites using a colored button in your browser toolbar. - Safe Search. When using popular search engines like Google, Yahoo!, MSN, AOL, or Ask.com, SiteAdvisor's safety ratings appear next to search results. - Enhances your online search by placing safety ratings next to search results. - Adds link safety checking to e-mail and instant messages, so you know which links are safe. - Warns you about dangerous sites and search results with clear messages. - Disables all interactions with dangerous sites with password-controlled `Protected Mode.´ - Informs you about the important information you need to know about a site’s downloads. No more guessing, Richard! Works for me! Lee

Lee thanks for the McAfee info. I pass on stuff like that. For me it doesn't happen enough to warrant having more software. I've got enough.
Thanks Richard
