Met someone the other day that worked on a 48 hour contest a few years ago. Sounded like a lot of fun and also awake for 48 hours. http://www.48hourfilm.com/Found an entry from St. Louis (not the one he worked on) and it is funny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOyKQJKcPxI

This does look like fun, Cheryl -- although I'm having enough trouble staying awake for 12 hours at a time at this point.

After being up for about 20 hours everything is funny, at 48 hours I would probably laugh myself to sleep

Apple does someting similar every year. They give students(high school & college) 24 hours to do a 3 minute video. The contest is called insomnia. The put a list of required elements that must be in the video, which can be found here http://www.apple.com/education/insomnia/elements.html. The submission must include 3 or 4 of those things. My son (17 yrs old) did this competition last fall. See if you can figure out the ones he used. It was very stressful for him when it needed to be uploaded to Apple by 8AM (after starting at 8AM the previous day) and their server wouldn't accept the upload. I came down about 6AM to see how he was doing and everyone else had gone home, except for him trying to upload this clip. We both tried, to no avail. So he fired off an email to Apple and surprisingly they sent an immediate reply for another site to have him upload to. We were successful! Overall, him and his friends had a great time. His submission is: http://muvipix.com/cpg/albums/userpics/10005/Out_of_the_Ordinary.movYou can see some of the winners here http://www.apple.com/education/insomnia/winners.html

Very Good Bob! I bet that was very frustrating for your son to have problems uploading after working so hard. Glad he got it submitted.
