Snow predicted for parts of Houston on Friday

Talk about anything here.

I can only think of two office buildings in downtown Milwaukee that have a pinkish cast to them -- though neither look particularly pink today. (The windows reflect pink when the sun hits them.)

The one on the right is the Northwestern Mutual headquarters across the street. The one on the left is a general office building on Water Street, near all the bars and barbecue joints.

Either look familiar?

Yup - Over on Water Street. His company, a Mortgage Insurance company, last I heard occupied both a couple of floors in the pink one and the white one across the street. The proximity to the bars should have given it away. :-D

You apparently have quite the visual coverage from your office. So with a nice day and a good telephoto can you take pictures of the Marcus?

Well, I could if City Hall wasn't in the way...

Our banks at the end of our driveway are approaching 7 feet  and we have another storm coming tomorrow (predicting another 4-8 inches). It's been snowing (lightly, but still) here LITERALLY all day long - about another 4 inches. I just shoveled my driveway for the 6'th time in 3 days. If I disappear in the whiteness, you'll know why......

I'm over it already.

While you guys are having snow storms, one of the cities up north here in sunny Queensland Australia is having major rain fall. This morning the town of Mackay had 625 mm (24.6 inches) in 6 hours. It was half their average annual rainfall in a short time. Houses were flooded as the water rose so quickly and as it started early morning (I think 3:00 am) it caught many people unawares.
Apparently it is nearly 50 years to the day since they have had so much rain in one day.
Luckily, I am further south in Brisbane and this has not affected us, but we do have friends up there and hope to be in contact with them soon to check that they are OK.

I'll bet that there is one heck of a mess and devastation.
That's an awful lot of water for 6 hours.

It's too bad. :???:
Thanks
Richard
