Hocky motion transitions

Postby Sara J. » Tue Mar 13, 2007 10:29 am

I am working on a project for a local Hockey team. Are there any ready to download hockey transitions out there to break up scene transitions. I was looking for something that might able to be chromakey or something.

Just something that might add a little interesting animation to transitions.

Thanks.

Hi Sara, Welcome to muvipix :)

I just finished Basketball and Swimming, no hockey stuff yet but that doesn't mean something can't be done.

Jamal (Wheat King) is big on hockey, he might have some ideas for you, he is also one of our Moderators. Let's see if he comes up with anything, if not I will do my best to help you out.

I can create actual transitions, no need to chromakey, but we will see what needs to be done. Any ideas Jamal?

Lots of ideas but lacking on the tools and the ability...

A cool transition would be to maybe have a puck being shot and hitting the "TV screen" (from inside) causing cracks or exploding glass. Most likely would have to do this in after effects (espcially the exploding glass) This might be possible in Premiere elements with the cracks, using a graphic of a puck and the maybe trying the lightning effect for the cracks. or you could create the cracks in photoshop elements.

An animated black silloette of a player skating across the screen.

An animated black sillouette of a player taking a slapshot.

    Rotating red light transition.

I think I might try the first one myself as it's one I could probably use in the future (once my kids are old enough to play hockey) ;)

What kind of timeline are you on Sara?

Those ideas would be perfect. I would need it within about two - three days. I certainly don't expect you to do all that work just to meet my deadline, but if you do create one at anytime I would be interested to see it.

Thanks for responding,
Sara

Jaymal
I think that idea of a puck coming at you and breaking the glass is such a cool idea.
Thanks
Richard

I created a couple last night, Ron will post them in the free area for download in the next day or two. Not a lot of time to spend on them with short notice so they aren't Super Great but hopefully will work in your project. Hey, after all they are free :)

Just put the clip above the clip you want to transition to on the timeline, the transparency is already set in the clip. I think you will figure it out after you see it. Hope this helps.

I started one last night as well, but one of my boys is running a bit of a fever so didn't get to finish it. I'll post it tonight.

Well done Chuck where did you get the images? They look high quality. Noticed the Goalie mask was upside down... but maybe that was on purpose?

Modified some images I found using a Google Image search. No restrictions that I could see and no watermarks, so I changed them a little and used them here. Too short of a deadline to find what I really would have liked to have used, but that's what I can do for free on short notice :)

The mask is in the original position, I played with it for about an hour and decided it was best left just the way it was.

That's how I got mine too. I found a good one of a cracked window that I used to simulate the breaking glass. Fortunatly it had a white background so I was able to easily create an alpha channel.

Wow! I can't believe how quick of a response and that you just created them because I asked! Thank you so much, this is perfect.

Now if only I could get that quick of a response out of my husband with a few things around the house.

Thanks. This is a great web site!

Glad we could help, with a little more time who knows what we might have come up with :)

Can't do anything about your husband but if you need graphics and stuff you know where to come ;)

Be sure to spread the word :!:

This is kinda like what I was picturing. I think it would look way better with the glass shattering and falling away to reveal the next picture, but alas that's a job for after effects. :glasses2:
