BTW, can anyone explain the relationship between Sapphire, Boris FX, Imagineer, and Mocha?

Are these separate companies? Do some of the packages combine products? Oh, there's BCC too.

Boris FX, Imagineer Systems, and GenArts are companies. Sapphire (GenArts), Mocha (Imagineer Systems), and BCC (Boris Fx) are products of those companies. Originally separate companies, Boris FX has acquired Imagineer systems and, as of last September, is acquiring GenArts. That makes Boris FX the 900 pound gorilla of the video Fx industry.

Ah, well that explains it. Sort of like when Adobe ate Macromedia and all of a sudden Dreamweaver was Adobe. The group of them keep sending me emails but the product pages all sort of run together.

I found myself looking for a particular lighting effect - glints - then remembered it was part of a free download from them that was mentioned here a while back. I tried to drag the files from my old C drive to the new one but they won't work now. I'd love to have their "Goose Removal" effect and some of their other things look nice too... until I looked at the price page.

Do you use their products, Bob? If so, how do you think they compare to the effects available in PrePro and After Effects?

I use Mocha AE which is included in After Effects. But, I don't use Sapphire or BorisFX. I do have some of Red Giant's plugins and some from VideoCopilot.
