..back this time. Left Nashville to Smithville, TN; a neat place to retire. Moved into a new house in May and the remains of the hurricane are pretty much cleared out. In the "WarRoom" I've build a photo setup and want to make it a Chroma Green with less expensive paint. Does anyone have any ideas of a Latex color that is less expensive than what I've seen on the Net. My setup is 4 wide X 5 tall and the platform is 3 deep. This should be more than sufficient for most of what I'll be shooting. Now, all I have to do is to learn how to handle the app manipulation to use various backgrounds. This is retirement, eh? Great to be amongst you again. BuddyB

In my "green room" in my house in the UK I chose a colour described as "Victorian green". The paint was standard wall emulsion - nothing special or expensive.
It does the job perfectly and, because the house dates from about 1850, the colour does not look out of place.

Couldn't help but smile. We truly are a special bunch, a class in ourselves. Who else would choose a wall color in their home based on a need related to a hobby? I love this place.

I've got a green screen cloth that's something like 10'x12' that I haven't had the chance to use in some time. If you'll pay to ship it, you can have it.
Just drop me an e-mail if you're interested.
And, if Buddy doesn't want it, that offer is open to anyone.

Welcome back Buddy !! That's a great offer from Steve You could stretch the cloth over a 1x2 frame and make a pretty nice green screen setup Also, as John said, special paint may not really be necessary. The only problem you will really run into (no matter what you use) is the lighting of the subject and screen. A high gloss paint will obviously cause more issues than a semi or flat finish.

You've always been beautiful people. Thanks, good to be back. Steve, I've already built my set-up so I just have to prime and paint it. Thanks for the offer. This is what I've built.

Buddy, I was going to suggest that you ask for just a postage stamp size piece of Steve's fabric. You can take something like that to most paint stores and they can put in in a machine that will create a wall paint color formula that will be a dead on match. BUT, I think perhaps you should seriously consider Steve's offer again. If you paint that plywood the knots are going to absorb paint differently from the rest. On the other hand, you could stretch the fabric and staple it in place for a homogeneous background. No cracks. No knots. Either way, good luck. Looks like a nice place to work. Paz
