small travel bag

Postby sidd finch » Tue Dec 31, 2013 7:03 pm

I have been looking for a small travel bag to put my Flip camera some USB cords and extra batteries etc in when I travel. I found a really cool small black zippered pencil pouch at Target for $5 USD that works like a charm.

Just big enough to carry what I need and it keeps everything together and protected.

Can't hardly beat that! Nice find. Sometimes it's a challenge finding just the right size bag/pouch/container for miscellaneous items. Cable and cord storage is often a challenge; zip-lock bags are an old stand-by. I was just recently looking for a way to protect a power supply tester when it's stored in my toolbox. Ended up putting it in a piece of bubble wrap inside a cardboard checkbook box. Does the job, but a bag like yours would have been nice.

I'm reminded of something from a long time ago. I needed about a dozen plastic bottles for a project and found that it was going to be expensive purchasing them. Surprising what they wanted for empty plastic bottles. Then I realized that I could buy bottles of hydrogen peroxide in just the size i needed for a fraction of the price of empty bottles! Emptied the contents and I was all set. I only found out later that hydrogen peroxide has some, ahem, unscrupulous uses and my purchase of it in quantity could have been misinterpreted. But it was different in those days.

I ended up using 2 of them because I had multiple items to carry but it made it easy to get to the one item I needed while I did not have to rummage through a bag of all my stuff.

hydrogen peroxide ??? Glad this is now and that was then. lol

I was thinking of using something very similar, but I thought people would talk. ;)

Be careful Dave. I did do something similar and people did stare. They also laughed and pointed. At first I thought hummm is it because I am wearing white gloves after Labor Day?? or did I not accessorize properly. Oh well back to the drawing board.

Jayell I like to think of that as consistency the main you reason you came here in the first place.
