Markers on Football Fields

Postby ksnielsen » Mon Oct 15, 2007 9:36 am

How do they put the first down markers and other markers on the football field during the televised games. It looks like it is right on the grass. Does anyone know how it is done?

Just curious.

It's actually a pretty advanced digital effect.

But you're not the only one who's asked! Lots of interesting reading on the subject:

That is a lot work to lay down some graphics..lasers...mapping...wow. I was wondering this myself when I first seen it used.
Thanks for the links Steve. I guess I won't be doing any football footage soon.
