It is worth it

Postby Don Whitten » Sat Oct 06, 2007 9:53 am

This past week has been trying for me. I had three videos that needed to be out and I do this without asking for any compensation. I hold a regular job full time, more like 10+ hours a day. I was asked to get some of these videos out because of some fund raisers going on and I really had to push myself to get it finished. I received an email that really made it all worth it:

Hi Don:

So the video was quite the HIT!! Thank you so much for your hard work on it. It was absolutely perfect for what we needed. People responded very well to it and the event actually netted $42,800! Can you believe it!! We are so blessed by great supporters and volunteers like you.

Sincerely!

Susan

Good job Don. \:D/ As you say it is amazing what a few words of thanks and appreciation can to do to make all that hard work seem so worthwhile. Quite a sum raised as well...

That is why I like doing these too. The joy and satisfaction people get make the hours toiling over all the details to put out a good production worth it.

Don, Sometimes a pat on the back or Kudos, is worth more than a paycheck. In this case you earned it.

Maybe your good will of today will bring you business on down the road. I have a feeling that was not your intent, but just the same it couldn't hurt.
