Moving that piece of junk is one of the biggest wasted efforts I have ever seen. I hope the people in L.A. are happy.

RJ I feel like you are holding back :)

The video is cool to watch especially when they show them lifting the utility wires to let the thing pass.

I loved that video. Wish I could have seen it being transported in person.

RJ- Why the negativity?

I plan on going to see the shuttle after the exhibit opens. I don't want to fight the opening crowds though. I'll probably go sometime in the spring. Hopefully, things will be a little more settled then.

FYI, the costs were financed by donations, not taxpayer dollars.

It's being conducted by the California Science Center, see: http://www.californiasciencecenter.org/GenInfo/Membership/Campaign/Campaign.php. The fund also covers the cost of building the new air and space center addition to the Science Center which will house the shuttle as well as other aeronautic and space artifacts.

Here's some more information and a faq: http://www.californiasciencecenter.org/Exhibits/AirAndSpace/endeavour/endeavour.php.

Thanks for the links Bob. Would love to visit the center. I hope you share your thoughts after your tour of the exhibit.
