Joe Zawinul RIP

If you follow Jazz/Jazz Fusion music then you know that keyboardist and composer Joe Sawinul, best known for his band Weather Report, passed away this week. I found a link to a live version of 'A Remark You Made', my favorite on the 'Heavy Weather' album, from 1979. I saw them that year at the Lyric Theatre in Baltimore. It still ranks as one of my favorite shows ever.

Ed, I was a big fan of Weather Report and a lot of other jazz fusion bands, but it's been a lot of years since I followed it seriously. Sorry to hear this news. I can't get the link to work, but I appreciated you posting.

Try it again tomorrow Dave, it was working earlier. I'll post it if it's become dead -- it's too good to miss.

Most of the fusion bands/people from that time are still touring, but doing acoustic now.
