For the VCL-0637H I think the letter H at the end represents the color. Mine is black which I have not seen in the stores as of late. There is a silver version but I do not recall the letter at the end.

I love the wide angle lens.

I would not shoot without a wide angle. I purchased a VCL-HG0737Y it is made of glass and makes the camera really top heavy. And just plain heavy. I then got a VCL-0637H and have not taken it off my Sony HC1 in over a year.

Pretty Cool stuff Ed.

My only fear is that all that shake on my nice camcorder will break it. I am using my own stick version made from a monopod. I use mine in the low position and love it. This is a really cool idea.

It is like the old joke about the plumber who comes out to fix the plumbing and bangs the pipe once with his monkey wrench and the problem is fixed. When the customer asks why he charged $300 for hitting the pipe. The plumber responds that it cost $1 to hit the pipe but it cost $299 to know where to...

The death of FireWire?

A new study from In-Stat reveals that IEEE 1394, branded as FireWire, i.Link, or DV cables by various manufacturers, is on the decline. IEEE 1394 is expected to reach its peak in 2008 and gradually go extinct by the year 2009. Taking its place is USB 2.0, which has a 100% saturation in the PC market...

I am assuming that it is not open for public viewing yet? I clicked the link but it said that there was nothing in the contest folder.

John, as always best and quickest are usually at the opposite ends of the spectrum. The quickest is to import the pictures and insert in the timeline and render. The best is when the pictures help to tell the story. Again that part is really subjective. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. One of t...

John, This sounds like a really fun project and I am sure it will be well received. Length of time is really subjective and varies based on the setting and what you are trying to present. To me it is like having a conversation, or telling a story with video and pictures. I would gauge my time based ...
