To make the size difference less harsh, I would scale down the larger images a bit and create a color matte or a fixed or motion background on a lower track.

Unfortunately, that feature was removed. You will have to use third party software to author DVDs.

Yes. It would make it easier to relink the media. Save the project file(s) and all media used in the project.
