Re: Buying an HDTV from Circuit City Instead Amazon: Oops!

George, I've never been one for purchasing extended warranties either, but lately I've changed my mind on some items. A year and a half ago we bought a Samsung 56 inch DLP TV. Because it was a new technology, and because I had read that replacing the light engine could cost upward of $1500, I had so...

Re: What software 4 video edits

Chuck, I think this is what he's talking about:

This particular one was created by someone posting to another forum in which I participate. I actually don't even know these people. Cute though.

Re: Software to find duplicate photos?

Thanks for the in-depth explanation of your TP experience Bill. I think you're much more of a power user than I am, which probably explains why I haven't run into the issues you have.

Re: Software to find duplicate photos?

Wow! I get up in the morning, go away for 8 hours to play with motorcycles and when I get back there's been all kinds of interesting conversation take place. The answer to your question, Mark, is yes. TP will look at a group of photos (large group if you want), and group the ones which look similar....

Re: Software to find duplicate photos?

Cinde, Thumbs Plus has this function. http://www.cerious.com/ You can download it unregistered and use it as a trial version for a while. I'm a version behind, but in my version you can find it under Edit, Find Similar Images. You can adjust for how close of a match you want. I've used it many times...

Re: New - Adobe Premiere Elements 7

Steve, in your article you mention: In addition to these new features, the Timeline has been slightly redesigned to include easier access to some of the program’s previously “buried” features. Could you elaborate on what buried features have been brought back out to the main interface? This has been...

Re: Intellipoint 6.2 causes problems!

Bob, are you real stuck on using that particular product? I'm a big fan of Logitech mouses, and I have to wonder if they make something that would do the same job for you. They're making some nice laser mouses. Can you return the Microsoft?

Re: Looking for a way to make a noise when scanner is done

You asked for crazy ideas, so I guess anything goes. I'm wondering if Windows considers this a program error? In the sounds settings in Control Panel, there is no default sound set for Program Error. Is it possible that if you assigned a sound to it that it might play a sound when that window pops u...

Re: Recommendations for free/low cost website creation software

Ken, my research in the past couple of days has also led me to KompoZer. It's an offshoot of NVU, and has gained a good reputation. It's not professional developer software, but I don't need that. I've used FrontPage since about '97 I think, and presently have the 2003 version. It tends to be kind o...

Re: Recommendations for free/low cost website creation software

Thanks for the responses. Honestly, the more that I think about this whole issue, the more I believe that this could be difficult to implement. They don't want the project to be in the hands of a single person (webmaster, for lack of a better word), but I'm afraid that decentralizing it will lead to...
