CS5 works well with HDV MPEG2. When I convert to HDV MPEG2 for working in CS5 I use a high bitrate (40MB/s) to try to maintain the quality after rendering.

Just one point Bob, you can have PSE/PE 9 installed on two computers... however if you uninstall the versions on your old computer make sure to "deactivate" them before you do otherwise you will have lost a "life".

You need a Blu-ray writer and player for AVCHD discs.

A standard DVD burner can write and playback AVCHD discs on standard DVDs... no need for a Blu-ray writer.
