Search found 4045 matchesI really don't claim to be any kind of expert as this is the first PC I will have built from components. In the 'New Machines' thread in Computer Issues I commented on the fact that the original motherboard package (mobo, processor, RAM) that I had received had to be returned because it was f...
Caveat: this book mentioned below is aimed at full Photoshop users. It may cover a lot of Photoshop Elements tasks but I am afraid I cannot say with confidence as I don't use Photoshop Elements. Laid out in a 'how to perform a task' style (or 'jump in anywhere' rather like the 'In a Snap' books) it ...
I thought about speeding things up. But I had two problems - the first being a limited number of pictures made avaialble to me. Each picture is on screen for about four seconds purely to try to keep in time with the music. I did try various other speeds but then (to keep in time with the music) some...
Sorry if I have misunderstood and this is not the solution to your problem but, if the microphone plug is a mini-jack, then to plug it (the mic) into the mixer you will need to obtain a mini-jack to jack converter/adaptor. Her is a picture:-

Well the slideshow was finally completed. I printed a list of all of your music suggestions and handed the task over to Mrs Twosheds. After a few hours searching the internet she came up with some other tracks and we made the final selection together. I took the completed DVD - about seven and a hal...
Hello Vernon, This is the mobo that I am using:
http://msicomputer.co.uk/index.php?func ... t2_no=170# Not too bleeding edge!!
Slight delay in running the comparison!!
Got it all assembled, installed XP Pro. Then the problems started. Faulty motherboard suspected so returned to vendor for checking. Watch this space though, because I will post a comparison as soon as the machine is back together.
Sadly, Steve, this new machine is for Mrs Twosheds.
But I'll still use it to try to give a benchmark compared to my existing machine and once I have done so I'll post method and results.
I have just finished putting together a system using Core Duo 2.67Ghz, 4Gb RAM, 250Gb SATA II/300, 500Gb SATA II/300, GeForce 8600 256mb, XP Pro. I'll be trying it out over the weekend so I'll let know how it performs compared to my current config.
For You iPod fansI don't have an i anything but I did find this 'i Promo' very interesting.

Thanks Doreen, Beth, Ed and Steve for these tips. Most of these (well, in truth, all of these) I haven't heard of. Looking at my music collection at home I stopped buying records in the Pink Floyd/Captain Beefheart/Frank Zappa era. Looks like I'm going to be listening to samples for an hour or two b...
Just a brief update on this.
Steve, thanks for the recipe - I haven't tried it yet but is has been copied onto my PC for use in the near future. I managed to get a VCL-0637H off eBay. I'll provide a further update when it arrives and I have been able to try it out.
Young Lady's Twenty First BirthdayOK you folks out there. Some brilliant suggestions here for various themes so I know that you'll be able to help me out. This particular theme is a young lady's 21st birthday. I am putting a 'growing up' slideshow together for her parents. What better group of people to ask for suggestions about mus...
Just a thought but I recently had trouble with PrElv2 capture. Uninstalling and re-installing did the trick.
Have you tried a either a repair install or a full uninstall/re-install?
Some people I know have used I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston but they obviously never listenened to the words other than the chorus.
In addition to some of those mentioned above, one of my favourites is Aretha Franklin's The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face.
