ib-Converting Video for Premiere Elements

Steve's Tips - Converting Video for Premiere Elements - Whenever possible, we highly recommend that you limit your source video to one of the "ideal formats" - and that you do not mix video formats in any given project. It is also very important to match your Premiere Elements project presets to your video source. Steve will present you with a few different tools that you can use to convert your source video to a Premiere Elements friendly format.

ib-Rendering and Premiere Elements

The term “rendering,” when used in reference to Premiere Elements can be a bit confusing. This is because it seems to mean two different things at two different times. Yet, what’s even more confusing is that, even when it means different things, it actually means the same thing. And, hopefully, that will make sense when you view this valuable article.

ib-Using Videomerge in Premiere Elements 7

Videomerge is a new effect in Premiere Elements 7. It essentially works on the same principle as the Chroma Key effect - re-defining an area of color or range of colors in your video as transparent - but it does so with more automatic functionality. And, although the term "automatic feature" is generally synonymous "unable to live up to its promise", Videomerge is surprisingly effective and easy to use.

ib-What's New in Premiere Elements 7

Version 7 is less an overhaul of version 4 than it is a refinement of it. This new version boasts improved performance and greater stability all around. It seems to handle a wider variety of file types more easily, and there are fewer of the hiccups that plagued some of the newer features (particularly the Text Animation for titles) introduced in version 4.

st-Basic Keyframing
(PDF format)

Steve's Tips - Basic Keyframing - The principle is a simple one: You indicate which points represent a setting for a motion, effect or level and the program automatically generates the frames between those points. The real power of this tool, however, is in how easy it is to revise and adjust the positions and settings of each keyframe, giving you, the user, the ability to fine tune your path or effect until it is precisely the effect you are trying to achieve.
