vlmpA friend wants help editing a video file ... I asked him what format it was in, he said vlmp ... never heard of it, can't find anything about it, what is it? Thanks. This is a video he shot decades ago using community access equipment.

Do you know if the video is on tape still or has it been converted to digital format? I can't find anything about vlmp and have never heard of it, wonder if your friend might be mistaken. Re: vlmpIf he is working in Windows 7 Movie Maker then the file is probably WLMP and is the project file, not the video file.
