Re: Successfully running version 8I D/L'd the trial version and played with it. For all your initial problems Chuck, and it is a resources hog, I am returning to my trusty PE3, which WORKS GREAT! I just don't need the hassles and learning curve either.

Re: Successfully running version 8That is if you deactivate the software first before uninstalling. I have had a lot of issues with Adobe as I didn't deactivate PE8 or PS8 before my HDD crashed twice - Tried to reinstall but 30day message came up . After hours online with adobe each time and lots of "discussion' before I could re activate either . They only allowed me one activation and were not very helpfull until I threatened legal action through Depart of Fair Trading. I can only run one copy not two as you suggest because of the two previous failures to deactivate.
Re: Successfully running version 8Welcome to Muvipix, Star, and thanks for your sage advice.
On the other hand, any time I've had activation issues with the software (okay, it only happened once), Adobe was terrific about turning off the registration at their end so that I could get the full two installations out of it. Sorry you had challenges. HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
Re: Successfully running version 8I have contacted Adobe for the same reason on two occasions and have had no problems with them allowing the activation on new computers, sorry to hear that wasn't the case for you.

Re: Successfully running version 8"In the Organizer workspace, under the Edit menu =>Preferences, is the Auto Analyzer Options screen. Uncheck the option to Analyze All Media in Catalog automatically."
AAaarrrggg.... There is no Menu bar on my Organizer workspace. In PE8 I select the "Organize" tab; then select the "Organizer" icon. This brings up another screen with "Welcome, Robert" on the title bar with only "Undo", "Redo", "Display" and a little house icon. No "Edit"... etc. At the bottom is a little house that only lets me "Pause" the Auto Analyzer. Have I installed this incorrectly? Bob
Re: Successfully running version 8My only advice Bob is to dump version 8 and replace it with either version 7 or 9

Preferably, 7. (Check Amazon and ebay for new-in-the-box copies and do it soon as, IMO, it's entirely possible a "mint" 7 bundle may become a collector's item that sells for multiple times its initial purchase price.) HP h8-1360t Win7 Home Premium 64-bit/Intel i7-3770@3.40GHz/8GB RAM/NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050/LG BH10LS30 Blu-ray RW+SD DVD/CD RW+LightScribe/52" Samsung LCD HDTV (ancient 1080p)/PRE & PSE & ORGANIZER 2018/CS 5.1 & 5.5 (rare use)
Re: Successfully running version 8I use PE8 and have gotten to love it. I have turned off the organizer and analyzer (I hate software to criticize my videos!) and I have set the auto save to 5 minutes. I have tried to get into the habit of saving every time I make a change. Sometimes, I am so enthusiastic about my edits, I forget... then the program laughs at me and crashes! One annoying thing that happens on occasion is someplace in the middle of perfectly good video, the program will produce 3 frames or more of brightly colored pixels. Have not idea what causes it. Other than that, I have just about figured out most of the bells and whistles of this program. I've had a lot of amazing help recently from the moderator at Elements Village.
Re: Successfully running version 8Be sure to tell ATR at the Elements Village that we said hi !!
