5th Annual Video Contest - Muvipix 2009

It's that time again for our annual video contest. This will be our 5th contest year and we are looking forward to all of the great entries.

Here are the details that we have so far:

Contest 1
Open Category
You may use any tools at your disposal
Must be no more than 3 minutes long
Must follow the theme, “Because There Are Stories To Tell”

Contest 2
Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements Only
May only use any combination of Photohshop Elements and Premiere Elements, any versions.
Must follow the theme, “Because There Are Stories To Tell”
Must be no more than 3 minutes long

Winning Entries Will Be Chosen As Follows:
Overall Grand Prize
People’s Choice Award
Technical Merit/Editing Award
1st and 2nd place for each contest
That’s 7 prizes in all.


Prizes will be announced later.

Export your video and upload to the Gallery (link to be provided later) in WMV format 640 x 480.
Ron will be adding the uploading and actual submission details before March 30th.

You will now see an additional album to upload your entries to - "2009 Muvipix Video Contest". Upload your video and thumbnail as usual to this album. Also provide a short description, title and the category that you are entering.

Please understand that once your video successfully uploads, you will not see it again until public voting commences (May 9, 2009). You will receive a confirmation message that your video was uploaded and needs to be approved by an Admin. If you're still not sure that it uploaded, post here and we'll double check it for you. Good luck everyone!


Entries will be accepted starting at 6am Eastern Time on March 30th 2009.
Entry deadline is 9pm Eastern Time on May 3rd 2009.
Open voting in our Gallery will begin on Saturday May 9th 2009.
Open voting will close at 9pm Eastern Time on Sunday May 31st 2009.
Muvipix Judging and Award Calculations will start on June 1st 2009.
Winners to be announced on Monday June 8th 2009.

Again this year we will establish a 'Prize Pool' as we did for last years contest.
The Grand Prize winner will select from the pool first, followed by the People's Choice winner, Technical Merit winner, then the First Place winners from each category, and on and on until the prizes are gone.

Well, this wasn't the best turnout ever that's for sure. Actually much lower than expected but there are also more than enough prizes to go around :yh:

We had a total of 13 entries from 8 members, voting will start on Saturday so be ready and have fun !!!

When voting, please, please, vote once for all videos. If the votes are variable in nature, then some votes must be thrown out and this complicates the People's Choice Award and truly isn't fair.

Comments are welcome, but not necessary.

The category is listed in the Description under each title.
