Talk about anything here.

Hi Debi, Are you talking about the DVD Menu Templates? If so there are a few articles by Steve in the products area. The Template for version 3 and 4 are the same, version 2 templates are different. Steve's article on 'Customizing a DVD Template Step by Step' is the best. http://muvipix.com/products.php?maincat ... ubcat_id=7If you have purchased a subscription the article is free, if not it is well worth the $9.95 And Steve is here to help if you have any questions or problems.

Steve, I'd like to see tutorials on After Effects. I'd also like to see more on cam work - trying to beat the old GIGO problem. Finally, more on audio. Thanks.

The first After Effects tutorial will come out on the 19th, it is version 7 and just an introduction but it is a start Audio is a tough one to do tutorials on using my current version of Captivate, maybe if I switch or upgrade. What type of cam work tutorials are you interested in?

Here's another thought - though not a tutorial thought!!
I think a forum devoted to the DV Cam might be well worth while. Talk about what we are using, problems and fixes, great accessories, in camera effects, camera techniques such as shooting day for night, and anything more - just focus on the cam.

Speaking of after effects, at some time maybe you could do one on the 3D effects (I believe it was Ron) did for the last contest. You remember the one where he pans down the street and appears to pass buildings.

I am not sure which one you are talking about Clayton, are you sure that isn't Paul's '8 Cities in 8 Days' 2007 winner? There are quite a few tutorials on this effect already out there on the internet. There are some links somewhere, I will try to find them.

As some folk have expressed a desire to get more info on Adobe Encore's Playlists and Chapter Playlists, I've put together a little piece on some of their uses and implementation in a DVD Project. Nothing fancy, and nothing going behind the scenes. This is a discussion of the basics of the two elements and how one might use them.

[EDIT] Maybe Steve or Chuck will take this to a full tutorial. Right now, it's just an article with no visuals, and that is, afterall, what Muvipix is all about!

For Photoshop books, I am a big fan of Ben Wilmore's "Studio Techniques for Photoshop XX," plus anything else he's done. Scott Kelby is also good, but I find his "style" to get in the way of some of his "substance." This is not bad, but does detract for me. I have never been a fan of Deke McClelland. I've attended many of his seminars and just wanted to go up and shake him. Many of his professed techinques are just plain wrong.
