Movie Studio Software

Movie Studio SoftwareEver since I had the Movie Studio software it would crash, hang, stop working in the middle of an operation. Been in contact with Sony and they have recommended a number of solutions. The last being a clean uninstall and reinstall, which I did. I reinstalled by downloading from Sony Creative Updates as listed in their instruction and not from my disc. If I read their instructions correctly this should not matter. Now when I open up the Movie Studio program it ask for my serial number that was included with my disc, which I did. An error message stating I have entered the wrong serial number and it should begin with 1SZ. However my serial number begins with 1ST. I have notified Sony of this and I am now waiting for a reply. Has anyone had this happen to them?
Re: Movie Studio SoftwareTry it with 1SZ.
Re: Movie Studio SoftwareMy serial number begins with 1ST.
This is definitely an issue to work with Sony customer service on. HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
Re: Movie Studio SoftwareIt seems the OP may have read the SCS KB instruction linked below, but just in case.
Movie Studio cannot register The same instruction also here
Re: Movie Studio Software
I did then it would not accept the rest of my serial numbers.
Re: Movie Studio Software
I purchased the software from Amazon. When I installed the software and was asked for the serial number I used the serial number that was include in the packet and it was accepted
Re: Movie Studio SoftwareSo it's definitely a case for SCS Customer Support, as Steve says.
Don't forget you can try their Live Chat. A silly question, but are you sure you downloaded the relevant version, i.e. Movie Studio Platinum, not the plain Movie Studio?
Re: Movie Studio SoftwareOkay, I have the software installed. I did a complete uninstall and installed the program from a link from Sony. I apparently downloaded the wrong program. Anyway I was able to use my serial number from my original disc. I think (fingers crossed) that it fixed the crashing. Need to get back trying to figure out these programs to make sure the problem has been resolved.
Thanks for the help.
Re: Movie Studio SoftwareGood to know you seem to have found the solution.
