Re: How to Photograph the Supermoon Total Lunar EclipseSorry I won't be able to photograph the super moon. I'll be in my basement, hiding under a mattress.

Re: How to Photograph the Supermoon Total Lunar EclipseThere's even a 6 paragraph section on "How to shoot the eclipse with a smart phone". So Steve, just hold your smart phone up a little higher and it's done. That is Steve under the mattress, isn't it?
Re: How to Photograph the Supermoon Total Lunar EclipseWell camera is set up and ready to go T minus 30 minutes..... But WAIT...whats this.... CLOUD COVER...... AGGGG.

Re: How to Photograph the Supermoon Total Lunar EclipseI happened to wake up at 4 am so I though I'd get up and have a look. Got a decent shot out of it. Caught me by surprise at how dark it actually was and I should have had my tripod out - but I'd wake the whole house up so I went for towel on a table in the garden.
We went from ISO 200 - 1/200th at f14 earlier in the evening: To ISO 800 - 1/2 second at f6.3: You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post. Re: How to Photograph the Supermoon Total Lunar EclipseVery nice, under the circumstances . We had gone out when it was just beginning, then when we went out again over an hour later I was surprised by how dark it was outside. At first I thought that the clouds had it socked in, but then I also saw how amazingly dark the surface was. The color was amazing.

Re: How to Photograph the Supermoon Total Lunar EclipseWell the moon is certainly eclipsed.....
In the UK we are well used to not seeing meteor showers and the like due to cloud cover. So much so that The Register (uk tech new site) proposed a fictional book "The Bumper Book of Astronomical Flops - Heavenly wonders obscured by driving rain. A sumptuously-hardbound coffee table book of 230 full-colour plates celebrating the very best of skygazing disappointments."
