Re: Half MarathonThat was very well edited Ron. Enjoyed it. "Tell a Story," and you did. Only problem is that 60 seconds in, I was winded and my feet and knees hurt.
The deep relieving gel and ibuprofen was a nice touch. Congratulations to your wife! Be yourself; everyone else is taken.

Re: Half MarathonRight, Ron: first of all compliments to Mrs. Aly .
I have strongly appreciated the pan and zoom effects (ops, may I say "Ken Burns ?) to focus the attention and create movement.
Re: Half MarathonRon that was a really good video. It showed a lot of commitment both in capturing the footage and your wife's dedication to running. Have you ever calculated all the miles run so far? The only thing missing was a shot of all the used shoes that wore out from all the running.
You are a good videographer in that your wife always looks happy. Even the shots at the end of the race she looks like she could run another marathon... Sidd "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." ..... Ferris Bueller
Re: Half MarathonThat was enjoyable to watch. Nicely done including the shots of icing the knee, the training schedule notations, and the finish line shots. The music worked well, too.
Re: Half MarathonWow Ron! Great job on the edit and an even bigger WOW to your wife! Please pass on the congrats for me. I don't run, but my daughter just ran the Go St. Louis half marathon and can understand the hard work & dedication that goes into the event.
On the editing: great job on the title work, the clips, the edit was a perfect pace. With the heating pad & ibuprofen shots, it really showed the amazing feat your wife accomplished. aka Cheryl

Re: Half MarathonWow, Ron, great video. I admire your wive for her accomplishment. But how about this: next time she goes out running you could strap on your GoPro and get some up-close action footage (just kidding). Wonderful job editing.

Re: Half MarathonThanks everyone, you really made me smile!! Getting positive feedback from the members here really means a lot.
I would have loved to use a GoPro to get action footage but my knees are not good so running isn't for me. I asked my wife to wear the GoPro on a chest mount during the race and she refused, said she didn't want to look goofy. That has never bothered me. FCPX made those edits easy-peazy. A "Ken Burns" effect is built-in and the latest FCPX update includes the 3D text effect. Desktop: HPE-580T, i7-950 (3.07GHz), 16GB RAM, Win'7 64-bit Home Premium, PSE12/PRE12, Lightroom 5.

Re: Half Marathon
You could threaten to follow her with a drone in the next race. Hey other Ron, We need drone smilies.
Re: Half MarathonChest mount would be cool... This is what goofy would be:
