slideshow with musicWhat are steps for creating a slideshow - prepare in organizer then what steps to get into final output. Plus when are projects settings made?
Re: slideshow with musicWelcome to Muvipix, iop!
There are at least four ways to create a slideshow using Premiere Elements and the Organizer. And how you do it kind of depends on how you plan to share it when it's done. In the Organizer, the easiest way is to simply select the photos you want to include (or at least some of them -- you can add more later) and then go to the Create tab and select Slideshow -- then just follow the prompts! Re: slideshow with musicWelcome to muvipix.
Sometimes it is good if you see a slide show that you really like and want to do some of the same things or keep that flavor. It also helps folks who are willing to offer suggestions to get a sense of what you are looking to do. SIdd "Life moves pretty fast. Re: slideshow with musicYes, welcome iop
You can let the program create one for you or you can spend lots of time creating and fine tuning your own creation, and anything in between. Lots of people here that love to help so just let us know what you have in mind. My favorite program for creating slideshows is ProShow, but Premiere Elements can do a nice job too 1. Re: slideshow with musicThanks for your inputs, I have a follow on question though. My first slide show worked out fine, but on a second slide show when I added music the time shown in music for the first music file added shows 7:11 in MUSIC PROPERTIES whereas the actual time of the music file is 4:11. I deleted the music file and whenever I add the music file it still shows 7:11 in the MUSIC PROPERTIES when the file is 4:11.
Re: slideshow with musicHi iop,
Are you using Premiere Elements Editor or the Organizer to create the slideshow? 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

Re: slideshow with music
I am working in the ORGANISER to create the slide show. I have deleted that particular music file in my music folder source then I tried using another coy of that same music and still get the wrong time when added to my slide show. I have tried other music files and they are added with correct lengths (time).
Re: slideshow with musicWhat format is the file? Do you have an audio editor that you can use to examine the file? Something like Audacity which is free.

Re: slideshow with musicIts in MP3 format. Yes I have the Audacity program installed but have not done any work in it. Its odd that apparently only the one music file (so far - as I have only added a few to date) would have the wrong time when added to the slide show. It is the time used by the program because when I use the TIME SLIDES TO MUSIC option it uses the wrong time again.
Re: slideshow with musicYou can open the file in Audacity and verify the length is correct. Sometimes there can be minutes of silence in the file. You can use Audacity to either edit the file, remove any dead space, or just save as another file name to see if that solves the problem.

Re: slideshow with musicI opened the music file in question in AUDACITY but did not find any glitches. I saved file as MP3 and used in the slide show and it loaded with the correct time.
I have had the same issues with more of the MP3 files when using in the slideshow. Again - after editing with Audacity they load with correct times. Is this a common occurrence with Adobe Premiere Elements 11 ? Is there a fix for this ? Thanks for your interest and replies.
Re: slideshow with musicHi iop, glad you resolved the issue and found a work around. Where did the problem mp3 files come from? May be a problem with the source and how they were created rather than a problem with Premiere Elements. Would be interested to know if any other programs read the wrong length also.

Re: slideshow with musicThe files came from files that a DJ used but don't have any further details.
Re: slideshow with musicHard to say where the problem is. If you could test them in another program it might give you the answer. My guess is that there was some encoding issue when they were created. Audacity fixes that when it saves the file.

Re: slideshow with musicOK and thanks for the info. Will use the workaround when needed. Its just time consuming to do extra steps when you are in the mood to get projects done.
