Re: Bluescreen & GreenscreenSteve, I would love to have this setup if only for 1 day to experiment. I'd also need his staff too. The local videographer that has a green screen told me that high def is easier to key than SD. The article did a great job explaining this and why progressive is better. And doesn't white balance play a role to get a clean shot to key later?

Re: Bluescreen & GreenscreenAbsolutely.
I've done some green screen with miniDV, but I've never really gotten it perfect. The edge just isn't clean enough, in my experience. But, yes, you should lock down your white balance when you shoot your video too. Otherwise, your camcorder will try to compensate for all the green and your green screen might turn out yellow! Re: Bluescreen & GreenscreenI haven't had time to read through this yet, but looks like great info. My greenscreen setup is pretty unsophisticated, so any help I can get is great! Thanks for this link, Cheryl.

Re: Bluescreen & GreenscreenA 4:3 try with Sony Vegas:
But the aura is still green... ... the video with the people is a free one on YouTube, the photo on the background is... around home ...
Re: Bluescreen & GreenscreenIt actually looks pretty good to me, Francesco. You do see a little green aura around the edge -- but, if you're working with standard definition miniDV video, it's hard to get really clean chroma key unless your lighting is absolutely perfect.
Or are you saying that you're using professionally-shot footage of actors in front of a green screen? If so, you might be able to get a bit cleaner look than you're getting with some fine tuning. HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
Re: Bluescreen & GreenscreenSteve, I'm thinking about a shot movie based on one of my favourite novels.
There will be two napes commenting background images of historical buildings (perhaps just the tower, we don't have many) and archeological sites. My webcam is always faithful Panasonic Sdc-hd 40, the actors will be... well, one of them it's me... soon a bergmanian close-up on this screens... as soon as I get courage ...
Re: Bluescreen & GreenscreenOk, I got the courage (quite soon, isn't it? hehehe) !!!
Do you guess what's happening? Of cours you did : I broke a secret and a phantom is haunting me... ... it occurs nearly everyday, no?
Re: Bluescreen & GreenscreenThis is without a doubt the most haunting web cam shot I have ever seen, Francesco! (And a very nice Bergman parody too!)

Re: Bluescreen & GreenscreenThanks, Steve, encouraging is the best contribute !
I don't always rely on dynamic expressions because I think that facial expressions send 5.000 messages per second... so static expressions are'performing' as well. Does "parody" has the same meaning as "parodia" in Italian? As "parodia" it would be caricatural... which I didn't mean, but perhaps you neither... confused Great Bergman's admirer Grazie, amico
