Well ...back in the day when my brother and I came home from college (Harvard) for Christmas break, you can see my Dad was not too thrilled. My Mom tried to smile but....Dad captured the moment...I guess things change when you mature a bit.

I still love this thread, it was tons of fun.
During the move we lost some of the images however.
If you see that yours is missing please replace it if you can [-o<

Portrait photographers refer to the off-center position of the head in Steve's avatar as a "two-thirds view of the face." If the main light comes from the side of the face that is toward the camera, the result is a "loop"of light behind the far side of the nose, so it's called "loop lighting." Because part of it is in shadow, the face looks much thinner than it does in a "full-face" view, an example of which is the pic of Steve in the cast.

Because almost everyone wants to look as thin as possible in one's portrait, the two-thirds view of the face is far and away the most popular among clients and their photographers.
