Christmas Villages are also pretty cool. A couple of those ceramic buildings, some fake snow, pine trees, horses pulling sleighs .....

Another great idea Chuck. We have a set and the kids enjoy setting it up each year. It was my MIL's.

My wife has a nice set that she loves to put up. Unfortunately we don't have the room for it right now so it has been in boxes the past few years. Would make some really cute miniature photographs. The photos almost have a tilt shift kind of effect to them, they look so awesome, you are quite talented Cheryl :)

Thanks Chuck & Bob (Peru). I did have tilt shift in mind when I shot the background of the plane. Played with the DOF a bit. There was a photo of the plane I liked better, but too shallow DOF and no room to put the kids. You could add a gradient blur in post.

My MIL's set sat in boxes for several years. A few years ago I had the middle child, she was 2 then, over for the day I thought it would be a fun way to spend time with her. It is now our tradition. The kids like to move the people around. I set ours up in the foyer on a sofa table. When kids come over that is the first thing they want to do...touch. The parents say no, but I then say yes. A couple have been broken, but super glue works. I bought a large plastic storage tub to put the whole village inside. This makes it easier to set up just that village on one day. I think we didn't set up before because it was in too many boxes mixed in with all of the other decoration clutter.

Thank Chuck! The grandkids love the imagination of the miniatures. The 2 oldest give input on how and where they want to pose.

I think it makes such a really cool time capsule for your grand-kids. It makes such a neat window in time. And I think it helps them to remember what they were like as kids.

I wish I had a grandma like you..... lol

Cool time capsule is a good way to put the projects. Hopefully they will remember me when I am gone and the fun we had. Hopefully one of them will want to pursue video or photography. The 9yo shot video with my waterproof action cam on vacation. They all want to press the button when I have the camera on the tripod. I did recently let the 6yo hold my camera with no strap. All ok, but careless call on my part. Sidd, I am sure your grandma is cooler than me :)

It would be close. Not to many grandmas can cook up a feast and then put in some serious camera and Photoshop skills...
