Hello from Brazil

A place to introduce and tell a little about yourself.

Hello from Brazil

Postby paulo_tebet » Tue Oct 27, 2009 12:29 pm

Hi guys and galls !

I would like to introduce myself into the community. I am 50 years old, graduated in Chemical Engineering but working in the computer industry for the last 20 years.

Yeah, I am a computer geek, I have to admit. Digital Audio, Photo and Video have been my hobby for many years now. I've been using many different software programs for audio, photo and video editing like all kind of bundle that came with my digital cameras and/or video card. I've used Power Director for quite some time for video editing, many different photo programs that came with my digital cameras, Audacity for audio stuff for quite some time.

I've used Microsoft Digital Imaging Suite Anniversay Edition for some time too, but when they discontinue support fot the product I start looking for something else. Tried the Vista itself to organize my 32,000 plus photo library but felt that I need somethig else. Then I decided to go with the Adobe Photoshop+Premiere Elements 7 bundle. Oh, I forgot to mentioned that I did lots of Photostories... Now I am doing this type of things with PrE7.

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Days Saints (aka "mormons") and as such, many of my soons left on a mission to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ (and one is in fact on a mission as of today, and for the next 23 months). When they went on a mission we always held a farewell party to them. At those ocasions I always show some videos about them. I've been doing Morphs for this ocasions too, where I show them growing from babies to the age of 19 when they normally go on a mission.

I have used to use a discontinued and old program to generate the morphs, but now I am using a new one called Fantamorph. Very cool software.

Working on the IT industry, having a large family and being active on a church leave me little time to spend on my hobby, but once in a while I check on this website for great tips and specially contents. I've used some background videos on my latest production and the result was very pleasant. I hope to learn and share some of my own discovery with the comunity.

All the best.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.

First one clarification, me and many other people of my church also do a lot of audio and video projetc, since we have organizations for children, young boys and woman and the theather, dance and music festival always present a need for some A/V materials.

Well, I have just created a new post on the Showcase session.

There you can see 3 generations of morphs done in the last 5 years... I hope you guys enjoy them.

Paulo:

Welcomr to Muvipix. I also work in the IT industry. The company I work for has a major client in Brazil. We even have software developers working in Brazil.

This contract keeps us going even in this recession.
