Hello from Central Alabama

Postby bamagal » Thu Jan 08, 2009 12:42 pm

Just joined and wanted to say "Hello". I had a studio for 10+ years but closed it about 4 years ago to take a job at Honda for the benefits I didnt have working for myself. Since the economy has slowed down car sales we arent working any overtime so now I can go back to doing photograhy again on the side. I love weddings, and have also photographed alot of beauty pagents, reunions, dance studios, etc. Even did shots of the inside of a guys mouth.....lol. Seems he didnt like what his dentist had done

Back then I was film, now I am digital with a Nikon D70, and really wanting a D300. I have Elements 5 along with Premier from a bundle package. I am now learning how to really go digital with all this new stuff, if only I had a usb port directly to my brain ](*,) .....lol. But I'm getting there along with the help of groups like this. I really want to get into making dvd's for clients, it's so kool! I made a couple with another program and they were ok, I am now playing around with Premier. Boy do I have a long way to go, but enjoying every minute of the trip :-5

I just bought a 500g xhd and now wishing I got the 1t. And a laptop to take with me on the go.

Looking forward to meeting and talking with everyone and getting back into photography. My true love..... just dont tell my hubby.... ;)

I think some of the folks here don't even do video, they just come here for the fun ::C

Chuck - you had us all fooled. We thought you were an experienced video person. :)

In any case, Glenda, welcome to the forum. Premiere Elements may have a steep learming curve, but you will be very happy with it in the end.

We are all here to help.

Glenda,

Welcome to Muvipix. I think you will find this a very helpful and friendly community.

Where in Central Alabama are you located? We used to travel through AL all of the time, mostly from New Orleans to the Eastern Mountains, but with family in Meridian, MS, we crossed AL many different ways. I think I may still have family members, who are sheriffs and maybe even a mayor in AL.

As I wind down from doing national advertising photography, I find that I use my Nikon D-70 more than all of my other cameras. Haven't touched my Hassleblads in some years, and it's been over a year, since I broke out the 4x5's! Digital is swe-e-e-et.

I also cannot believe how wonderful a digital NLE is, versus what we used to have to do with cine film. These "kids" don't know how good they have it.

Take care, and please step forward to contribute your knowledge,

Hunt
