Ramses the Great

Postby sidd finch » Wed Jan 18, 2023 12:28 pm

I started the new year getting to do a couple of my favorite things.

1. Exploring ancient Egypt
2. Getting to work with Steve making a video

"Ramses the Great and the Gold of the Pharaohs" exhibit is touring the world and is currently in San Francisco. I had a ticket for New Years day and was not disappointed. Just an amazing exhibit. Cameras were allowed so I brought my 360 camera. It had a little issue with auto focus in the low light but I am happy with the results. Let me know what you think.

Thanks for watching Treetops Happy to know it was informative for you.

There is so much history there that it is amazing their civilization lasted almost 4000 years. Even the Roman empire only lasted 1000 years.

I was not able to get closeups but the jewelry is astounding in its detail.

The exhibit looks like it would be a treat to see.

Dave it really was. The exhibit had staggered start times so individuals could walk around at leisure and enjoy seeing and learning about their history. The Egyptians really had master craftsman at everything they produced. Regardless of the medium Stone, gold, wood, paint it was really cool. Appreciate you watching.

And a HUGE shout out to Steve who's talents are really appreciated.

Wow! That was great. A PBS presentation. Steve, the older you get, the better the narration gets.
I live close enough to go there for the day, but now I don't have to. Years ago I went to see the Tut there, and that was totally amazing. No cameras were allowed.

Thanks RJ glad you enjoyed it. The Museum did a great job in presenting the artifacts. And, I agree Steve has "that" quality that makes for an enjoyable listen. My stuff is better for having Steve involved.

Ed I think you would really enjoy the display. There is soooo much history. It would be cool if you were able to video too.

I did a secondary edit to highlight some of the wrap-around shots for the insta360 user forum. Thought you might want to check it out. I will say I prefer the voice over video much better. The insta360 forum is more about quick videos.
