Re: Hummingbird Au NaturelI love hummingbirds! They haven't shown up here yet, but soon. The colors are so vibrant on this Sidd.
My mother was a huge fan of them. I took this back around 2008 at her house with my trusty Canon ZR65 miniDV. Still works!
Re: Hummingbird Au NaturelBeautiful! Very, very nice on the iPhone. The colors are gorgeous. Did I ever mention that I love this stuff? He flapped his wings 10,341 times. I counted.

Re: Hummingbird Au Naturel
Thanks Ed I enjoyed your video you captured some cool shots. I am really amazed at the iPhone footage really nice footage.
I am impressed Dave, I can only count up to 9,764. So cool you have a command of the extra numbers. Because of this when people ask me how many times the birds flapped their wings I have to respond with a single word "yes!" I think we have the same iPhone (SE) and I love the way it records video. I am using the Filmic Pro app and recording at 4k 30fps. I need to start experimenting around with adding a macro lens and seeing if I can capture the birds with the iPhone. Or maybe a salamander hunt..... Sidd "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." ..... Ferris Bueller
Re: Hummingbird Au NaturelWe have hummingbird wars, they are very territorial little birds. They claim their space and then fight to protect it from others. It's always interesting to see who wins the battle and gets crowned king of the feeder. Sometimes is a male but quite often it is a female. We usually have 4 feeders spread out about 20+ feet apart. It is really something when 1 hummingbird tries to control them all at the same time ! That's when the wars start.

Re: Hummingbird Au NaturelIn our backyard when the bird feeder is low, the female Hummingbird buzzes my head almost like she is telling me... Hey fill up the feeder. She fly's about a foot from my head. Cracks me up every time

Re: Hummingbird Au NaturelLove hummers! Great stuff Sidd. I need to get my feeder out. One summer I went fishing for hummers. Set the focus manual and fired with remote.

Re: Hummingbird Au NaturelThat's a great way to record them mom. I use a similar setup but instead of remote I use an app on my phone to trigger the record. Beats trying to scrub through a lot of empty footage.
I also like Chucks idea of multiple feeders around the yard. It would be fun to capture one of the "battle for the feeder" kind of events. Sidd "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." ..... Ferris Bueller
